Florence Laurens, the artist, immigrated from the Netherlands to the deserts of Southwest Arizona, USA.

She attended Arizona State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude, with a B.F.A. in Painting and Drawing. Besides teaching, Florence Laurens has had numerous shows and exhibitions.

Her artwork is a reflection of her feelings, moods and inspiration. The desert always has impressed her, which she has captured in a multitude of drawings and photographs. On her excursions through Arizona and neighboring States, she became acquainted with different Indian reservations and explored numerous historical ruins, old missions and native villages. It is her joy to share those unique findings and treasures in lively, colorful and exciting artwork.
