"Kachina Dancers"

I've been honored to witness several Hopi Indian ceremonies at different locations throughout the Southwest. The Kachina Dancers represent a religious ceremony honoring the day to day life of the Hopi. Each Kachina has a different meaning, their dances are like prayers.

The Badger Kachina, shown on the left, dances for fertility in the coming season.

The Antelope Kachina, shown on the right, dances for a bountiful hunt.

Many ceremonies include the children to educate them about their tribal culture.
