"Caburica Mission"

Mission San Ignacio de Caburica, just 1 hour from the border into Mexico. It is the 2nd oldest mission in Pimeria Alta.

Records show, it was built around 1687. However no one can say for sure, because adobe missions are made of mud bricks which constantly have to be repaired or rebuilt.

What we do know is that through local natives and Aztec descendents, the mission has become a pleasant mixture of past cultures. The folk charm of the portal and its interior decorations are a unique and very personal asset of San Ignacio.
